How FriktionTek® by XADO Works

FriktionTek® by XADO Repairs, Protects and Strengthens Metal Surfaces

FriktionTek® uses XADO's patented nano-particle technology– a process takes place at atomic levels – to create the ceramic-metal coating on your internal metal parts.

All FriktionTek® products contain a patented ceramic-metal compound cisisting of a silicate building material and a unique magnesium-based energy activator. The proprietary compound uses heat from friction to create a new surface.

FriktionTek® by XADO Repairs

    • FriktionTek® by XADO uses oil or grease as a delivery system to seek out metal-to-metal friction. At that point of friction, there is sufficient energy to trigger a microscopic chemical reaction.

    • As the microscopic chemical reaction occurs, several things happen.
      (1) The metal surface is cleaned.
      (2) Ceramic-metal nano-particles are formed. These nano-particles attract the microscopic metal particles produced from normal wear.
      (3) FriktionTek® then bonds with the metal to become part of the surface it protects.

    • As the surface is changed and tolerances are optimized, there is no longer sufficient energy to trigger the reaction making FriktionTek® self-limiting.

FriktionTek® by XADO Protects

    • FriktionTek® by XADO protects because the parts fit better as the tolerances become optimized. By improving fit, FriktionTek® reduces harmonics, one of the root causes of wear.

    • As it smoothes rough spots and fills gaps in the working surface, FriktionTek® by XADO replaces the original metal-to-metal friction surface with a cermet to-cermet layer that protects from wear. The new surface is often smoother than a new part.

    • The new ceramic-metal surface is non-conductive and resists corrosion.

Note: FriktionTek® by XADO is a cer-met and contains no PTFEs.

FriktionTek® by XADO Strengthens

    • The ceramic-metal surface absorbs shock better than metal and considerably better than ceramics alone.

    • The ceramic-metal surface will not flake, crack or peal.

    • The new coating not only restores and protects metal, FriktionTek® by XADO strengthens its molecular structure.

    • The new surface has a micro hardness factor of 650-750 kg/mm2, making it harder than the surface prior to treatment.

    • FriktionTek® by XADO nano-particles can penetrate up to 30 microns deep into the metal surface.

FriktionTek® by XADO uses the metals found it the motor oil as the building blocks to form the ceramic-metal coating.

A Word Ceramic and Ceramic-Metal Coatings

Using ceramic and ceramic-metal coatings for machinery is not a new technology. They have been used for decades on everything from in brake pads and high performance engines to jet turbines and space craft to increase efficiency, insulate heat and reduce wear. But to apply these coatings, engines had to be disassembled to treat each individual part.

With the emergence of nano-technology, XADO has developed an advanced method to deliver the ceramic-metal layer to moving parts during normal operation.
